Grow Annuals & Perennials in Backyard Garden

To get fruits in any field, first we have to work really hard. Yes, I’m right.

No matter what we do? for example; In education field, we study so many years, go to school, university, do this and that, then we are able to start something; whether it is job or your own Business to earn.

Same thing goes in farming. Farmers do really really hard work and even they don’t know, because their crops are dependent on the weather. Floods come with too much rain, no rain then drought comes and insects eat their all crops. If they are lucky, then only they get rewards, means their crops survive fully.

Same thing happens with the small space gardening. I live here in Canada and here I get only couple of months in summer, when I’m able to grow something in my backyard. I do really hard work and finally I get fruits of my hard work. I mean, I get herbs, vegetables and beautiful flowers. I really enjoy, but then winter comes and everything dry, and then I can’t do anything at all to survive my garden.

But doesn’t mean that I’m not going to grow next year. I’m fully positive and every year I grow herbs, vegetables and flowers as much as I can grow.

I hope, this article and my Tour video is going to inspire you to grow something fresh for your family.

Question: Do you know when it’s the perfect time to harvest your crops?
Answer: Harvesting time for each Vegetable is different. I learned by doing it practically & that is the best way to learn each and everything.
Growing your own vegetables is the best way to provide your family with homegrown, fresh organic food or at least one should grow herbs to use in daily life; such as-Mint, Coriander, Spinach, thyme, Oregano, Rosemary etc.
If you don’t have land to grow, just use Grow Bags, plastic Pots or even if you can use, then the best ones are Terra Cota Pots for the Gardening.

They are so light and convenient to carry and put anywhere in the corner of your balcony and somewhere else.

Even I have Backyard to grow whatever I like to grow, still I use Containers and grow bags to grow some more, so I can have some more homegrown veggies. Usually I plant only those vegetables, which take less time to harvest, because we don’t get much time here in Canada.

Coriander in plastic pot

In the above  Plastic Gardening Pot, you can see Fresh Coriander, which I have grown from regular Coriander, which I bought from the Grocery Store to use in the Kitchen.

The Seed of Coriander was not specific. Means you can also grow Coriander from regular Coriander that we use in our Kitchen.

Peas in the soil

In the above Grow Bag, you can see Peas Plant. To grow the Peas Plants, I didn’t buy any Peas Seeds, but I just planted from regular store bought fresh peas. You know How I did? I extracted peas from the peas beans and put in my fridge and I could not make the Sabji from them.

When I started to make Aloo Matar Sabji after couple of days, I have seen some of them were having tales and then I just planted in my Grow Bags just for the fun and even at that time, still it was Cold here in Canada.

All Seed germinated and I thought there will be no fruit to them. Again I was surprised to see, they are giving more fruit(means Peas)than I used to plant in previous years from Peas Seeds.

So what does it means, it means you can also plant from store bought fresh peas.
