Chocolate Caramel Pretzel Bars

These sweet-and-salty dessert bars combine a buttery pretzel crust, gooey caramel, and a smooth chocolate topping. They're easy to make and great for parties, holidays, or an everyday treat.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups crushed salted pretzels (about 6 oz)
  • 1 cup (2 sticks/226 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1¼ cups thick caramel sauce
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Crush the pretzels into coarse crumbs, leaving some small pieces for texture.
  3. Mix the crushed pretzels with the melted butter until evenly coated.
  4. Press the mixture firmly into the prepared pan to form an even crust.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes.
  6. Spread the caramel sauce evenly over the crust.
  7. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the warm caramel. Let them sit for 2–3 minutes until softened, then spread the melted chocolate into a smooth layer.
  8. Refrigerate for 1½–2 hours, or until completely set.
  9. Slice into squares and serve.
