These sweet-and-salty dessert bars combine a buttery pretzel crust, gooey caramel, and a smooth chocolate topping. They're easy to make and great for parties, holidays, or an everyday treat.
Ingredients
- 3 cups crushed salted pretzels (about 6 oz)
- 1 cup (2 sticks/226 g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1¼ cups thick caramel sauce
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- Crush the pretzels into coarse crumbs, leaving some small pieces for texture.
- Mix the crushed pretzels with the melted butter until evenly coated.
- Press the mixture firmly into the prepared pan to form an even crust.
- Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes.
- Spread the caramel sauce evenly over the crust.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the warm caramel. Let them sit for 2–3 minutes until softened, then spread the melted chocolate into a smooth layer.
